The Australian Auctioneering Championships (AUSTROS) represents the most skilled and professional auctioneers that south Australia has to offer. Taking place Thursday 10 October, this event showcases the best of the best in the state.
Auctioneers will perform an Auction in front of a panel of judges and bidders and will be scored using the Australasian judging format.
The top two point scorers will be the South Australian Representatives in the AUSTROS finals being held in Adelaide from Ma3 15-15 2025.

Matt is the Managing Director and joint Owner of Klemich Real Estate and a Director of Klemich Property Management among a number of private companies.

Bretts career in real estate spans some 45 years. He has successfully operated his own company up until 1994 and then established a freelance auctioneering business. With a real estate career spanning 5 decades Pauls passion for auctioneering is well known. Introduced in 1993 to the thrill of competing in auction competitions Paul was hooked. Winning Golden Gavel Award in 2006 Paul twice represented REISA in the Australasian Auctioneering Championships going head to head with the best auctioneers in the land. He knows what it takes to compete and succeed at this level and was ultimately appointed a judge. As the International Auction Chapter President for the L J Hooker Network Paul would oversee the auction strategy for 700 offices conducting in excess 10,000 auctions per year.
A former Vice President of REISA, President and Patron of the Society of Auctioneers & Appraisers Paul would go on to become the Goden Gavel Trustee 5 times taking the auction competition across the State for Livestock General and Real Estate Auctioneers and mentoring year 11 & 12 students in the Schools Auction Idol. In 2007 he was just the second agent to be Awarded the Sir Robert Torrens Award for outstanding service to the profession. As chair of REISA Auction Committee he developed a code of Conduct for Auctions and Auctioneers.
It is no wonder Paul has a passion for auctions. He was youngest sales agent in SA at just 17 years of age going on to lead the highly successful beachside agency Prime Real Estate then in 2003

Steve was born and bred in Port Lincoln and raised in a real estate family. He has worked in the Port Lincoln real estate industry since 1987 and has been Principal of the company since 2000 after taking over from his father and founder of the business, Reg Kemp.
Steve has an exceptional knowledge of the industry and specialises in all aspects of real estate sales and developments in Port Lincoln and surrounding areas of the Lower Eyre Peninsula. Steve has always taken great satisfaction and personal pride in achieving the high goals he sets for himself. Steve regularly donates to Royal Flying Doctor Service and as a company has donated over $48,000 to the valuable service. He is actively involved as support person to the bike riders for the bi-annual charity bike ride, Treasure Life Ride, raising valuable funds for Matthew Flinders Home and Ronald McDonald House Adelaide as well as other community groups by donating his time through auctions or speaking events.
In recognition of Steve’s dedication to his community and passion for the Eyre Peninsula, he was awarded 2024 Citizen of the Year for Port Lincoln.
